See which keys
work the hardest.
By the end of the day your space bar has taken a thousand hits, and Delete has been busy too. Every key gets a count — never a single word of what you typed.
A menu bar app for Mac
Keydance sits in your menu bar and counts your keystrokes, clicks, and pointer movement, then turns them into heatmaps and a daily rhythm. It counts what you press — never what you type.
This demo is live: type something, or tap Statistics and the sun icon. Demo data; nothing leaves this page.

Only counts are kept — never prompts, replies, or code. You decide which agents to connect.
Also: all-time totals, activity trends, top keys, day and night looks, and ten languages.
Privacy
What you type stays yours. No account, no cloud sync — your records stay on your Mac.
Only Input Monitoring is required, and recording pauses in password fields. The leaderboard is opt-in. Full privacy policy
Pricing
Every feature, free. The trial starts on first launch — no purchase needed and no automatic charge.
Recording keeps going and nothing is deleted. Today’s three numbers and all-time totals stay free.
Yearly or one-time — the same Pro either way: heatmaps, rhythm, past days, deeper statistics, more themes, and multiple agents. Prices are shown in the App Store.
Questions
No. It counts which key was pressed and how many times. It never stores text, the order of keys, or when each one was pressed.
macOS requires it for any app that counts keyboard and mouse activity system-wide. Keydance only listens; it can’t control other apps and doesn’t need Accessibility.
Any Mac with macOS 13 or later, Apple silicon or Intel.
In Settings, choose Clear all data and confirm. If you joined the leaderboard, Leave and Delete also removes your ranking data from the server.
